Any vehicle transporting petroleum or flammable materials is required by law to obtain a licence from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). VICOM is an SCDF-approved inspection centre for the inspection of such vehicles.

Items for inspection include Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in gas cylinders, battery insulation, fire extinguishers and warning labels. Pictograms of the materials that the vehicle is transporting must be prominently and clearly displayed on the front, sides and back of the vehicle.

Documents to bring

Drivers must produce the Fire Safety Transport Licence Inspection Checklist for vehicle inspection. The company's stamp must be imprinted on the completed form, together with the signature of the carrier or transporter.
